Burnley vs Manchester United Prediction

Betting Tip: Under 2.5 goals

Burnley have plenty of catching up to do with fixtures coming thick and fast for Sean Dyche and his side after a backlog of postponements over winter. They only played two games in January but did get one league game out of the way at the weekend, a dire 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Watford.

It was another desperately poor performance offensively from the Clarets who just don’t seem to have the creative nous to break down we’ll set up sides. That was the first clean sheet of the entire season for Watford and lost the xG battle 0.97-0.70 in a game low on quality and good chances.

Their record at home against Tuesdays opponents Manchester United hardly makes for positive reading either. United have won 1-0 or 2-0 in their last 5 league trips to Turf Moor and a similar result wouldn’t be a surprise here given Burnley are struggling for attacking potency but United have been far from their free flowing best too.

Dyche will be calling on his previous experience of staying up which is to try grind out points and keep clean sheets, something they are capable of. It’s hard to back United given their recent performances though so just taking under 2.5 goals here looks a solid play with neither attacks firing.
